  8. Subject: Glossary Editorial Board

  10. At the temporal database infrastructure workshop, it was decided that
  11. the glossary needed an editorial board to achieve coherence and
  12. consistency across the various terms and definitions. Volunteers were
  13. requested, and quite a few people did in fact volunteer. The steering
  14. committee then had to make the difficult decision of which 6 people
  15. would be included (the committee decided that, given the tight
  16. deadline, a larger board would tend to slow down the process).

  18. After some discussion via email, the steering committee has
  19. constituted an editorial board consisting of Christian S. Jensen,
  20. Editor, and James Clifford, Ramez Elmasri, Shashi Gadia, Pat Hayes and
  21. Sushil Jajodia as members.

  23. We thank the several others who volunteered. We appreciate the
  24. willingness of so many people to be directly involved in the
  25. finalization of this version of the glossary. And we offer our
  26. condolences to the editorial board members, who will be quite busy
  27. over the next two months working on the glossary.

  29. We ask the editorial board to utilize the tdbglossary mailing list to
  30. the maximum extent possible to ensure community involvement.
